Understanding hardware temperature sensors
What CPU, GPU and disk temperature readings mean.
Typical ranges vary by chip, but as a rough guide for CPUs: idle readings in the 30s–40s °C are common, and sustained loads in the 70s–80s °C are typical for many processors. Check your processor maker’s specified maximum for your model.
Sensors differ: some report core temperature, others package or motherboard. Compare readings under the same conditions. If temperatures are high, check fans and dust. See temperature monitoring.
