Cannot click or drag the floating window
If the NetSpeedDisplay floating window ignores your mouse, it is probably in click-through mode or locked. Here is how to fix it.
You try to drag or click the floating window and nothing happens. There are two common reasons.
1. Mouse Penetrate is on
Mouse Penetrate makes the window click-through, so clicks go to the app beneath. To turn it off:
- Right-click the tray icon (not the window).
- Untick Mouse Penetrate.
2. The window position is locked
Lock Window Position stops the window from being dragged. Untick it in the same menu. You can still click a locked window.
3. The window is behind something
If Always on Top is off, other windows can cover it. Click the tray icon to show the window, or tick Always on Top.
4. The window is off-screen
After a change in monitor layout the window can end up where you cannot see it. Try these in order:
- Click the tray icon to show or hide the window.
- Restart NetSpeedDisplay.
- Reconnect the monitor you used before, move the window and then lock it.
If none of that helps, email support with your Windows version and monitor setup.
Prevent it
Use Lock Window Position once you are happy with the place, and use the tray icon as your control point. See the right-click menu reference.
