Network adapter selection
Choose the Wi-Fi, Ethernet or VPN adapter NetSpeedDisplay measures.
Your PC may have several network adapters: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, virtual adapters from VPN software, and others. Each reports its own traffic.
Automatic or manual
Automatic selection picks an adapter for you. If the numbers look wrong, choose the adapter you are actually using. Adapter names appear in Windows under Settings → Network & internet → Advanced network settings.
VPNs
A VPN adds a virtual adapter. Traffic may show on the VPN adapter, the physical adapter, or both, so numbers can differ. See network adapters explained.
Troubleshooting: zero or incorrect speed.
