Monitoring Wi-Fi speed on Windows
Understand Wi-Fi link speed versus real traffic.
Windows shows a Wi-Fi link speed in the adapter’s properties. That is the radio rate between your PC and the router, not your internet speed, and real throughput is usually lower.
Weak signal, distance, interference and congestion all lower it. Watching live traffic while downloading shows what you really get. Make sure the Wi-Fi adapter is the one selected (network adapters).
